The Dutch women’s team booked a spectacular victory over Norway on Tuesday. The number twelve of the FIFA world ranking did not hinder Sarina Wiegman’s team in a full Grolsch Veste: 7-0. The the Dutch washed away the hangover from last week’s 1-0 defeat against Italy and is working towards the Olympic Games in Tokyo with a good feeling.

Under the watchful eye of 7,500 spectators, the the Dutch squad got off to a good start. In the thirteenth minute Vivianne Miedema shot in the 1-0 from the edge of the penalty area. The striker hit the far corner with the inside of the foot. The 5-0 was in the name of Miedema, who cut out her guard in the penalty area and found the left corner.

A marker from Shanice van de Sanden meant the 6-0 seventeen minutes before the end, after which Van de Donk determined the final score on the advice of Van de Sanden. The the Dutch Lionesses will play three practice matches in the run-up to the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Five days ago, Sarina Wiegman’s team lost 1-0 to Italy in Ferrara; a goodbye match against South Africa will be played on Saturday 3 July.
