Thanks to the resounding 0-3 victory of the Dutch national team over Romania, the grumpiness has been banished from the training camp of Oranje. There was also positive news in the area of injuries. National coach Ronald Koeman substituted against the Romanians Nathan Aké, Jerdy Schouten and Steven Bergwijn because they had minor complaints. However, the aches and pains of the trio appear to be less severe.

Aké, Schouten and Bergwijn showed up in Wolfsburg along the training field. Together with the other basic players, and Donyell Malen who came on during the break, they cycled a bit on exercise bikes.

The substitutes were on the field and trained under the guidance of assistant national coach Michael Reiziger. This did not apply to Matthijs de Ligt.

The defender is struggling according to, among others, the NOS with 'mild complaints' and therefore trained for himself the day after the victory over Romania and only did some running exercises.

According to the broadcaster, Ryan Gravenberch was the one who made the biggest impression during the training, where it was 'passionate and fanatical'. The 22-year-old midfielder has not played for a minute in this European Championship. “The most beautiful goals in the various forms of the game came from his foot, twice he beat the goalkeeper with a chipped ball”, writes the NOS.

Striker Joshua Zirkzee can also count on compliments for his sharpness in front of goal. “Koeman looked at it approvingly, had a chat with the Bologna attacker afterwards and was the last to leave the training field with him.” The Netherlands will play the quarter finals against Turkey on Saturday evening at 9 p.m.
