Jan Streuer has confirmed the transfer of Joël Drommel to PSV. In conversation with The Telegraph let the technical director of FC Twente know that it is ‘a nice transfer’ for both the goalkeeper and the club. The 24-year-old keeper will be medically examined at the club today, where he will sign a contract until the summer of 2026. The presentation will follow later this week.

Drommel reached a personal agreement with PSV weeks ago. Because Twente stuck to an asking price of 6.5 million euros and the people of Eindhoven initially made a bid of 2.5 million euros, it took a relatively long time before both parties agreed. In the end, both parties have watered down. According to the newspaper, Twente will receive about 3.8 million euros for Drommel.

The keeper himself also contributed to the agreement between all parties involved. He renounces the contractually agreed percentage of the transfer fee. According to Football International Drommel and his agent were entitled to about a quarter of the transfer fee. “Some people portray him as a money grubber, but that is completely unjustified,” said Streuer. “Joël dropped his percentage and that contributed significantly to reaching an agreement. That is worth a compliment. Many players would not have done it this way. ”

Drommel finishes the season in Enschede and joins the selection of trainer Roger Schmidt in preparation for the new season. “We are satisfied. It’s a nice transfer. We were not in such a hurry ourselves, but in itself it is good that there is now clarity ”, says Streuer, who has already contracted a successor to Drommel with Lars Unnerstall. The German keeper is transfer-free from PSV.
