Atalanta booked a relatively simple victory in the Serie A on Thursday evening. In-house, the team of trainer Gian Piero Gasperini was 3-1 too strong for Torino. The absolute man of the match was Teun Koopmeiners, who scored a ‘false’ hat-trick with two fine penalties and a shot from a distance. Thanks to the third victory in four rounds, Atalanta leads the way in Italy.

Atalanta – Torino 3-1
In contrast to the won duel with Hellas Verona (0-1), Hans Hateboer had to settle for a spare role this time. Marten de Roon and Koopmeiners, who were also match winners last round, did get a basic place. At Torino, Perr Schuurs, who came over from Ajax, was referred to the bench by Ivan Juric. Koopmeiners put his name on the scoreboard for the first time on the stroke of the halftime signal. Brandon Soppy made a play from the right wing, but was knocked down in the penalty area by Ola Aina. Arbiter Marco Di Bello did not hesitate for a moment and put the ball on the spot. Koopmeiners made no mistake from eleven meters: 1-0.

Only two minutes after the break it was again the Dutchman who was accurate. The midfielder shot the ball hard and low past goalkeeper Vanja Milinkovic-Savic from about 25 meters: 2-0. Fifteen minutes before the end, Nikola Vlasic brought the tension back into the game, but Atalanta managed to hold on and even restore the advantageous margin of two goals. Ten minutes before the end, Ademola Lookman was knocked down in the penalty area, which allowed Koopmeiners to again aim for a penalty. The midfielder shot the ball hard past Milinkovic-Savic, who chose the right angle: 3-1.

Bologna – US Salernitana 1-1
Jerdy Schouten and Denso Kasius were in the starting line-up for the home team, while newcomer Joshua Zirkzee was on the bench. On the US Salernitana side, Tonny Vilhena could count on a starting spot. Marko Arnautovic, who was still in the interest of Manchester United this transfer window, made the opening goal from the penalty spot. In the final phase, Boulaye Dia saved another point for Salernitana, after goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski tapped the ball right in front of his feet after a long shot: 1-1.
