Latest update:

Raphaël Varane, Casemiro and Jadon Sancho may leave Manchester United next month for 'a reasonable offer', it writes The Independent Thursday afternoon. The trio came to Manchester for a total of around 200 million euros, but were unable to leave an indelible impression.

Casemiro is perhaps the most surprising name of the three. He was a mainstay in the Manchester United team that finished third in the Premier League last season.

This season the Brazilian veteran is having a more difficult time and has also been struggling with injuries for a long time. Casemiro has not been in the selection since the beginning of November (seven games in a row). The midfielder is not expected back this calendar year.

According to The Independent Casemiro's departure is negotiable because Ten Hag is looking for a different type of midfielder. Casemiro himself would also like to take on other challenges at this stage of his career, it sounds.

A departure for Sancho seems logical, as the expensive winger has not been part of Erik ten Hag's selection for some time. The Dutch manager felt forced to banish Sancho from the team after a public row, during which Sancho refused to apologise.

The obstacle to Sancho's departure is his current salary. The technical attacker is paid royally in Manchester and there are few clubs who can or want to cough up that money.

Varane's stay has also not proven to be an unqualified success. Last season, the injury-prone French centre-back formed an excellent central duo with Lisandro Martínez, but this season he has been overtaken in the pecking order by Harry Maguire, with Victor Lindelöf claiming the other spot in the centre.
