Latest update:

Isak Hansen-Aarøen has exchanged Manchester United for Werder Bremen. The Germans picked up the Norwegian midfielder and attacker for an unknown amount from the English superpower.

Hansen-Aarøen is said to be dissatisfied in Manchester with the lack of prospects in the main force. The nineteen-year-old talent was under contract at Old Trafford until the summer of 2024. Discussions about a contract extension came to nothing.

As a result, the policy makers, who would have preferred to keep Hansen-Aarøen at the club, felt forced to sell the Norwegian in order to save a transfer fee from his departure.

Manchester Evening News wrote earlier this week that Ajax was also closely monitoring the situation of the youth international. Ajax, Atlético Madrid and Napoli would all have been interested parties.

But it is Werder Bremen that runs away with the youngster's signature. On the German club website, Hansen-Aarøen states that he is very happy with his transfer.

“Isak is a very exciting talent with great potential,” said Clemens Fritz, director of football operations. “We are very happy that we were able to convince him of the sporting prospects with us.”

“His contract in England was due to expire in the summer and he would have attracted even more interest, so it is a good thing that we have already been able to arrange his transfer,” concludes Fritz.
