Dusan Tadic refuses to publicly resign Marc Overmars after his departure as director of football affairs at Ajax due to transgressive behaviour. The captain came under strong criticism on Sunday morning in Good Morning Eredivisie from, among others, Hans Kraay junior. Prior to Ajax’s home match with RKC Waalwijk, the same Kraay junior puts the matter to trainer Erik ten Hag.

“Yes, I have not seen it”, Ten Hag responds from the Johan Cruijff ArenA in front of the camera of ESPN† “I have just seen some statements. Yes, it is of course annoying that it comes out in this way, but I do not know whether it is all correctly interpreted. I have to talk to him (Tadic, ed.) about that. But I do not think that he means it that way. Because of course he also thinks it is a bad thing and as a club we have also distanced ourselves from it. Our thoughts are with the women. But of course, we do not forget Marc,” Ten Hag refers to the much-discussed issue surrounding the Overmars who resigned in February.

Kraay junior then repeats what Tadic said about the Overmars issue to a Serbian-speaking journalist from the NOS. In addition, Ten Hag gets compliments for the fact that he once again shows compassion towards the female victims within Ajax. Then the focus is again on Tadic’s statements. “He (Tadic, ed.) means by: ‘It does not interest me’. It does interest him, but it is not his business. That is what he means,” emphasizes Ten Hag once again. Kraay junior then asks whether it is not convenient for Ajax to speak with one mouth in this matter. “Take it from me: our thoughts are really with those hurt women,” replies Ten Hag. “You do that well”, says Kraay junior in conclusion.

Tadic made the conscious and therefore criticized statements in conversation with the NOS† “I don’t know what happened. I don’t care either. Whether someone made a mistake or not… I don’t want to judge anyone. I don’t want to say anything about that because I don’t know what happened. I support him as a friend and as a person who has meant a lot to Ajax. Everyone makes mistakes,” says the Serbian international. “It is not up to us to judge others.” Tadic has been in contact with Overmars. “He is doing better now. He had a hard time. I hope he comes back big, because he really deserves that,” said Tadic.
