Sven Botman can look forward to serious interest from Atalanta, assures Fabrizio Romano. The 21-year-old center defender of Lille OSC has been linked to several Premier League clubs for some time and is now considered a ‘dream target’ at Atalanta, according to Romano.
Botman has been linked to Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in recent months, although that never seems to have materialized. The mandekker was surprisingly national champion in his first season with Lille and was then active with the Dutch Juniors at the European Under-21 Championship. Lille paid eight million euros to Ajax last year for Botman, who is on 37 matches in the Ligue 1.
Romano emphasizes that Atalanta’s interest is independent of a possible departure of Cristian Romero. The 23-year-old center back is emphatically coveted by Manchester United, which according to Tuttosport saw an initial offer of 45 million euros rejected. Romero is rented by Atalanta for two years from Juventus, the first season of which is now over. Atalanta will early lift the option to buy sixteen million euros and then have the full transfer rights over the mandekker.
