It appears that George Ilenikhena will leave Royal Antwerp FC a year after his arrival. The only seventeen-year-old attacker, who was brought to De Bosuil by Marc Overmars last summer, is in the strong interest of Inter, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Inter recently secured the Italian national title and in order to perform even better next season, the club is looking for serious reinforcements. The eye is said to have fallen on Ilenikhena.

The attacker is in his first season at Royal Antwerp, but has made such an impression i Nerazzurri put him on the radar.

According to L'Équipe Overmars paid around six million euros for Ilenikhena last summer. The attacker was taken over from the French second division club Amiens SC, where he scored twice in seventeen official matches in the 2022/23 season.

This season, he made 45 appearances in all competitions for Antwerp, scoring 14 times and reporting once. In Italy, he is referred to as 'the new Victor Osimhen' because of his Nigerian origins.

Osimhen is one of the best strikers they have seen in Serie A in recent years, with the ultimate highlight being the league title won with Napoli. The Nigerian played an important role in the Scudetto with 26 goals.

La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that Inter already showed interest in Ilenikhena last year, but Overmars' negotiating skills turned out to be decisive. Now the attacker still has to make the trip to Italy.

Although no exact amounts are mentioned, it is assumed that Antwerp can expect a multiple of the six million euros paid last year. Ilenikhena still has a long-term contract until mid-2027 and a minimum estimated value of ten million euros.
