Kenneth Perez finds it incomprehensible that Joshua Zirkzee has made the switch from Bayern Munich to Anderlecht on a rental basis. The Danish analyst says in the program The Ultimate Preview by ESPN that he would have loved to see the twenty-year-old striker play at Feyenoord. At the same time, Perez calls it shocking if Feyenoord has to start with Naoufal Bannis in the striker next season.
“Dick Advocaat was not completely crazy to put Linssen in the lead. Slot tried Bannis and Bozeník, but eventually ended up with Linssen. So there must be a number nine”, begins Hans Kraay junior in the talk show about the striker position at Feyenoord. “A high-scoring striker for little. Do you have a number?”, Perez adds. “Pelle? I haven’t the faintest idea what he’s up to. He spent a long time in China and was relegated with Parma.”
“My option was Zirkzee. I think it’s such a shame for that boy that he goes to a club in ruins, Anderlecht. Why does he not just say with his agent: ‘We are going to Feyenoord, however it should be’”, Perez continues. Zirkzee has already played two games for Anderlecht, but has not yet scored. Kraay wonders what happened around Zirkzee’s switch. “I know his father, he is a treasure of a man who is completely Feyenoord crazy.”
“Then that boy first goes to Parma, now to Anderlecht and then back again. Man, what a shame that is,” Perez responds. Marciano Vink emphasizes that Zirkzee could have become ‘the hero’ at Feyenoord. “He can be the savior, the one who can put twenty in there and get The Legion behind it.” Perez then concludes: “It is shocking if you have to play with Bannis in striker, I’ll hold my breath. Well, it’s a sin somehow. You can’t say with good decency that they finish in the top three.”
Vink tips Adrián Dalmau from FC Utrecht for the striker position at Feyenoord, after which Kraay asks Perez whether he would get Giorgios Giakoumakis from VVV-Venlo with one and a half million euros. “I’m not in favor of taking that kind of risk,” Perez replies. “And you can’t get it for one and a half million. If you can score so many goals at VVV and don’t judge him too cynically, but only on his goals… Surely there is a striker to be found, just as serious. We are not on it every day, but Frank Arnesen and Arne Slot are.”
