Feyenoord has broken open and extended the contract with Arne Slot, the Rotterdam club reports through the official channels. The 44-year-old successful coach, who guided Feyenoord to the sixteenth national title in club history this season, has signed for one year and is therefore fixed in De Kuip until mid-2026. Slot has been heavily linked to a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, but is not yet ready in Rotterdam South. At Feyenoord he hopes to extend the title next season, while the club is also preparing for Champions League football for the first time since 2017.

Slot responds to his new commitment via the club website. “I’m not done here yet. We’ve had a wonderful season with Feyenoord, with the championship as a wonderful reward for all the hard work that has been done, but I really want to build further. After the summer, an adventure in the Champions League awaits and there is a national title to defend. Enough to look forward to, so I am proud to be and remain Feyenoord’s trainer in Rotterdam.” Slot has been in front of the group since the summer of 2021. In his first year, the coach managed to reach the final of the Conference League with his team, while winning the national title this season.

Clause
At the press conference on Friday afternoon, Slot announced that the clause stating that Slot could leave in the summer of 2024 for a limited lump sum payment has also been removed.
