Jeremiah St. Juste is probably in his last months in the service of 1. FSV Mainz 05. The Dutch center-back is according to Sports 1 in the serious interest of Bayer Leverkusen. A few unnamed German top clubs also have the 24-year-old ex-player of sc Heerenveen and Feyenoord high on the wish list.

According to the German television channel, St. Juste already indicated to the club management in January that he would like to make a transfer next summer. Leverkusen is looking for a new defender, as Lars and Sven Bender will retire after this season, while Aleksandar Dragovic has an expiring contract. In addition, Jonathan Tah is one of the candidates at Leverkusen to be sold. With the imminent departure of the foursome, St. Juste has come into the picture.

Mainz has not yet received an official offer for St. Juste. The current number twelve of the Bundesliga does not want to let the Dutch defender go just like that. It is said to have cost fifteen to twenty million euros. Moreover, Mainz is in no hurry with a possible sale of St. Juste. The mandator is fixed until the summer of 2023, giving the club an excellent negotiating position.

St. Juste, who can also play as a right back, made the switch from Feyenoord to Mainz in the summer of 2019 for an amount of eight million euros. At his current employer he played himself in the base in a short time. His strong development earned him an invitation to the Dutch national team for the first time in the previous international period. However, that did not lead to a debut in the the Dutch squad.
