A spectacular match between Fortuna Sittard and SC Heerenveen did not produce a winner on Saturday evening. After ninety minutes of football the score was 3-3. Alen Halilovic and Luuk Brouwers scored two goals, while the sometimes elusive Osame Sahraoui also excelled. Both teams are not making much progress with the one point. Fortuna is ninth, Heerenveen twelfth.

Heerenveen got off to an excellent start in Sittard, where they already took a 0-2 lead halfway through the first half. First of all, Sahraoui made it 0-1. The winger set up his own goal by sprinting to the box and entering into a one-two with Patrik WÃ¥lemark. The Swede gave back to the Norwegian, who cut, turned and found the short corner with a fine shot: 0-1.

The 0-2 came just five minutes later. Sahraoui passed to compatriot Oliver Braude, whose cross initially had no effect. However, the defense of the Limburgers simply handed the ball to Brouwers, who made it 0-2 with a wonderful stroke in the intersection.

Heerenveen did not concede any goals before half time and therefore went to the changing rooms with a good feeling. Yet Fortuna would come fully back into the match. After about an hour of play, Fortuna was awarded a penalty. Halilovic took responsibility and scored: 1-2.

Heerenveen managed to score two goals very quickly in the first half and Fortuna also managed to do so after the break. Rodrigo Guth towered above everything and everyone and nodded the equalizer against the ropes: 2-2.

That wasn't the end of it yet. After a brilliant attack over several drives, the ball arrived at the feet of Brouwers via Sahraoui, Ché Nunnely and Pelle van Amersfoort, who scored his second of the evening with a convincing shot: 2-3.

Yet Fortuna managed to equalize in the eightieth minute. Mickey van der Hart, the replacement for Andries Noppert, who had passed, did not look good at a set piece and Halilovic took advantage of that. Brouwers almost gave the Frisians the victory, if it weren't for his header that hit the crossbar.
