SK Brann has fired Kristoffer Barmen following the sex party that took place last week in its own stadium, his lawyer Erik Monsen said in a press release. Brann’s 28-year-old midfielder reacts very surprised to that decision and believes that there is discrimination. For now, Barmen is the only player to be fired, while twelve players were involved in the incident.

Twelve players from SK Brann’s squad decided to continue their evening in a nightclub after dinner last week. There they invited seven women to come to the club’s stadium. According to the Norwegian Bergens Tidende ‘Wrestling activities on the field and in the locker room’ took place there, in front of the security cameras. It caused a stir in the Norwegian press and SK Brann has now intervened.

Like teammate Mikkel Andersen, Barmen was not in the match selection for Brann’s last match last Sunday. Where Andersen was subsequently accepted in grace, Barmen received a letter of resignation on the doormat. “We are very surprised by SK Brann’s decision,” said his lawyer Monsen. “There have been allegations against Kristoffer Barmen in which he does not recognize himself and he feels clearly unfairly treated.”

“That is reinforced by the fact that he alone must bear responsibility for this nighttime incident,” the representative continues. “Kristoffer believes that there is unreasonable discrimination and of course does not agree with the decision of the clubs.” The lawyer announces that he will challenge the dismissal based on the labor law in Norway. It is striking that Barmen is a child of the club and has been playing in the first team since 2011. He is a regular starter and has 250 appearances for the club to his name.
