Ronald Koeman will not be able to call on Ian Maatsen for the time being, it was reported Football InternationalThe 22-year-old defender is ill and will not travel to Berlin, where the quarter-final of the European Championship against Turkey is scheduled for Saturday evening.

Maatsen has not yet played a single minute at this European Championship and is the only player from the current Dutch national team selection still waiting for his international debut.

The left back was dropped just before the announcement of the final selection, but was later added to the group by Koeman due to Frenkie de Jong's injury.

Nathan Aké is normally the left back on duty against Turkey, although he was substituted early by Koeman as a precaution in the round of 16 due to minor hamstring complaints.

With Micky van de Ven and Daley Blind, the national coach still has plenty of other options who could potentially play as left back.

VI writes further that the remaining 25 players did report to the training field of the Dutch national team in Wolfsburg on Friday afternoon. Later in the afternoon they will travel by train to Berlin, where the quarter final against Turkey will be played on Saturday.
