Ralf Seuntjens feels heavily robbed by Bas Nijhuis. The striker of NAC Breda saw an apparently clean goal rejected against FC Volendam (1-0 loss) and mercilessly lashes out at the arbitrator. “It’s a shame, it’s about nothing,” said the furious Seuntjens.

Seuntjens dropped a high ball on his back about six meters from the goal, while FC Volendam goalkeeper Filip Stankovic missed. Although Seuntjens hardly seemed to blame, Nijhuis disallowed the goal. “It happened outside five meters, then you can start the duel,” Seuntjens said ESPN. “I don’t even jump. I don’t really do anything. I stand, he falls on my head and he enters.

According to Seuntjens, the decision also does not fit in with Nijhuis’s way of whistling. “It’s a scandalous decision. He lets everything continue, I’m covered in scratches everywhere. He doesn’t whistle for that…” The veteran thinks that Nijhuis was guided by his assistant referee. “He is in much better shape here, he approves him. The linesman flags while there are six men in between.”

According to Seuntjens, there was no point in addressing him about this. “After the goal you can’t talk to him anymore. Then he walks away. Then he can’t be approached anymore. It makes no sense. What I said? I didn’t say anything to him, because he just walks away. It’s a shame , one big mess. It’s just a dirty trick.” Even after the game, Seuntjens did not speak to the arbitrator anymore. “What do I do afterwards? You thank the audience, and then they are already in the dressing room. So yeah, it’s no use to you. You can’t discuss anything, if you talk you get yellow. It’s just one dirty trick.”
