SERGIO Ramos’ eye for goals set him a new record in business.

The Spanish captain now boasts the record of most international goals by a defender. This after he surpassed the record of the former Argentine captain, Daniel Passarella.

Ramos played a key role for La Furia Roja in their 4-0 UEFA Nations League A victory over Ukraine on Sunday, where he led twice from the front within the first half hour.

The 34-year-old’s name was on the scoreboard in the third minute, when he scored from the penalty spot after Ansu Fati was knocked down by Sergey Kryvstov in the goal area.

Ramos’ second goal of the evening was his 23rd for his country.

The Real Madrid star, who is Spain’s best player with 172 international appearances, is now also his country’s eighth highest goal scorer of all time, after being tied with former Los Blancos legend Alfredo Di Stefano.

His latest milestone comes just over two months after becoming the best defender in LaLiga’s history, with 68 goals to his name during his time at Sevilla and Real.
