Sergio Peña has set his sights on a switch to Ajax, as you know Libero to report. The 25-year-old midfielder of FC Emmen has the clubs to sort out, but according to the Peruvian newspaper, he is particularly charmed by one offer: that of the team from Amsterdam. Peña is currently active with Peru in the Copa América and scored earlier this week in the 1-2 win group match against Colombia.

Peña wants to focus on the Copa América for the time being, in which Peru has three points after a hard defeat against Brazil (4-0) and the victory over Colombia after two games. The midfielder was a basic player in both games and Peru continues the tournament on Wednesday evening with a game against Ecuador. Meanwhile, Peña’s agent is working on his future in the background and there is a lot of interest in the midfielder.

FC Emmen took over Peña from the Spanish Granada in the summer of 2019. The attacking midfielder, who also wore the shirt of Alianza Lima, Universidad San Martín de Porres and Tondela, has played sixty official games for FC Emmen for the time being, in which he was good for eleven goals and six assists. Despite the fact that his contract in Drenthe continues for another year, a summer departure is the obvious choice.

Peña is an expensive force for FC Emmen due to his status as a non-EU player and he himself probably has little desire to be active in the Kitchen Champion Division next season. There is interest from Mexico, the Middle East, the United States and the Netherlands, writes Libero. Ajax would be one of the candidates and for Peña it is an important motivation that he could play in the Champions League with the team from Amsterdam next season.
