Sergio Aguero may risk an early departure from Barcelona due to a clause in the contract. In the Spanish podcast Mas Que Pelotas comes Adrián Sánchez, journalist from Cadena SER, with the news that Barcelona has included an ‘injury clause’ in the Argentine’s contract. Should Aguero achieve a ‘too low return’ due to injuries, the club can have the contract terminated without any problems.
Alejandro Carrasco, host of the podcast, will come out with the news on behalf of Sánchez, who was unable to attend, when Aguero’s injury comes up. “I have just heard from Adrian that Barcelona has included a clause in Sergio’s contract. That clause is linked to Aguero’s ‘return’ at Barcelona. If he does not come to a certain number of games due to injuries, the club has the option of canceling the contract without legal consequences,” Sanchez said.

On Monday it was officially announced that coach Ronald Koeman will have to do without the Argentine striker for the time being. The seriousness of Agüero’s calf injury is even worse than initially thought. Barcelona confirmed through official channels that the striker will be sidelined for around ten weeks, after a three to four week absence from Spain was initially expected.
