Dusan Tadic has been included in Serbia’s World Cup squad. The captain of Ajax is part of the 26-man selection of national coach Dragan Stojkovic, who has also selected no fewer than eleven players who are active in the Serie A. Filip Duricic, Filip Kostic and Namanja Gudelj, who all have a past in the Eredivisie, are part of the team that is chasing success in Qatar.

The selection of the Eastern Europeans includes some big names. Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus), Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio) and Aleksandr Mitrovic (Fulham) are some eye-catchers. Striking is the absence of Matija Nastasic from RCD Mallorca, who already missed the World Cup in 2018 and is therefore not present. Also Erhan Mašovic (VfL Bochum) has not been called up by Stojkovic.

Serbia will face Brazil, Cameroon and Switzerland in the global final tournament in Group G. For Tadic, this means, among other things, a meeting with ex-teammate Antony, who has been selected for the Brazilian national team. The game against the South Americans is also the first for Serbia. That match will be played on November 24 at 8 p.m. Dutch time.
