Sparta Rotterdam announced on Friday that an agreement has been reached with an unnamed club about a transfer fee for Abdou Harroui. RTV Rijnmond reports that the club in question is England’s Nottingham Forest, but at the same time states that the transfer of the 23-year-old midfielder has not yet been finalized. As a result, Sparta cannot yet anticipate the transfer market and has already been told that Wouter Burger does not see anything in a renewed employment at Het Kasteel.

Sparta and Nottingham Forest would have reached an agreement on a transfer fee of 2.5 to 3 million euros. However, Harroui has not yet signed his name and there are still several clubs in the market for him. Technical director Henk van Stee can only enter the transfer market when the millions for Harroui have been received. “I also see that the team needs reinforcements, but we can only switch if we have the money from the transfer,” says Van Stee in conversation with RTV Rijnmond.

In any case, Van Stee does not have to count on Burger’s arrival. The twenty-year-old midfielder was loaned out to Sparta by Feyenoord last season, but for the time being has renounced a new switch to Spangen and wants to finish the season in De Kuip. Burger was turned into center defender by Arne Slot and came into that position in last Sunday’s game with Go Ahead Eagles, after Marcos Senesi was injured.
