Roger Schmidt has announced the line-up for Thursday night’s game against Go Ahead Eagles. Yorbe Vertessen and Carlos Vinícius take the places of Bruma and Ritsu Doan, who were both injured against RKC Waalwijk last Sunday. With a win, PSV is again one point ahead of Ajax and the club from Eindhoven crowns itself as winter champion. The duel in the Philips Stadium starts at 6.45 pm and is led by referee Dennis Higler.

Due to the entrance of Vinícius, Cody Gakpo moves back to the left wing at PSV. The the Dutch international was still in the lead against RKC. Vertessen ‘just’ takes over from Doan at right winger. Just like in Waalwijk, Mario Götze is in ten, with a block from Eric Gutiérrez and Ibrahim Sangaré behind him. Mauro Junior, Olivier Boscagli, André Ramalho and Philipp Mwene form the defense for goalkeeper Joël Drommel, who, despite his questionable play, still gains the confidence of Schmidt.

Kees van Wonderen’s mission is clear: to stop. The trainer of Go Ahead Eagles apparently starts the duel in Eindhoven with a 5-3-2 formation and hopes to achieve a stunt. For the time being, however, PSV has a good opponent in the club from Deventer. PSV has won 22 of the past 25 home matches and has not lost one.

PSV line-up: drum; Mwene, Ramalho, Boscagli, Mauro Junior; Gutierrez, Sangare; Gakpo, Gotze, Vertessen; Vinicius

Go Ahead Eagles lineup: hahn; Lucassen, Nauber, Idzes, Kramer, Kuipers; Rommens, Botos, Brouwers; Orat mangoen, Cordoba
