There is no shock effect at Galatasaray after the dismissal of Fatih Terim. The ailing top club also lost the second game under new coach Domènec Torrent on Thursday evening: after Saturday’s 4-2 defeat at Hatayspor, Kasimpasa was 1-3 too strong. Rotterdam-born Halil Dervisoglu opened the scoring for Galatasaray, after which Ryan Donk initiated the comeback on behalf of Kasimpasa. Patrick van Aanholt participated for 78 minutes with Galatasaray, which is thirteenth with 27 points from 22 matches.

Galatasaray supporters were silent for the first five minutes of the match, in memory of the late Ahmet Çalik, who played for the club in shirt number 5. After 32 minutes, the crowd made their mark when Olimpiu Morutan was tapped by an opponent in the penalty area, but the penalty was not awarded. Six minutes before the break, a quick counter resulted in Galatasaray taking the lead.

After a corner from Kasimpasa, Galatasaray took over. Morutan launched Dervisoglu, who cut out a guard just outside the penalty area and found the left corner. However, in the third minute of injury time in the first half, Donk made it 1-1. After a corner, Tarkan Serbest played the ball in the penalty area to Donk, who struck out in the left corner in one go. Because of his past in the Nef Stadium, the defender celebrated his goal very modestly.

Kasimpasa completed the comeback after less than an hour, when a low cross from Mortadha Ben Ouanes ended up in the penalty area for Umut Bozok, who had space to choose the corner between several defenders. On behalf of Galatasaray, Kerem Aktürkoglu had shot the post shortly before and the team also unsuccessfully asked for a penalty after an alleged handball by Michal Travnik. Deep in stoppage time, substitute Kevin Varga determined the final score at 1-3; the goal was initially disallowed for offside, but was subsequently declared valid.
