Ryan Donk has found a new club after leaving Galatasaray. The 35-year-old center defender’s contract with the Turkish top club had expired and, according to The Telegraph now transfer-free to Kasimpasa, where he was previously under contract between 2013 and 2016. At the same time, Stefano Denswil also looks set to start in the Süper Lig, as he is expected soon in Turkey to complete his transfer to Trabzonspor.

Donk left Galatasaray this summer after more than five years, 155 official games and two league titles and now returns to the club that sold him to Galatasaray in January 2016. The six-time Surinamese international is signing a one-year contract with the current number six in Turkey, with an option for another season. Donk previously played for RKC Waalwijk, AZ, West Bromwich Albion and Club Brugge and will become a teammate of Nicolai Jörgensen, Jeffrey Bruma and Dogucan Haspolat at Kasimpasa.

Denswil also seems to be presented soon in Turkey. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported talks between Besiktas and the 28-year-old center defender of Bologna last week, but according to Sabah Trabzonspor will become Denswil’s new club. He would set foot on Turkish soil on Monday evening to complete the transfer to Trabzonspor, as an agreement already exists between all parties. Trabzonspor currently occupies seventh place in the Süper Lig.

Denswil returned to Italy this summer, after having played on a rental basis for Club Brugge in the past six months. Bologna paid six million euros in the summer of 2019 to release Denswil from Club Brugge. In his first year in Italian service, the centre-back made 28 appearances, but last season he had to make it with just 7 games before returning to Belgium on loan. Denswil was also not always a basic player at Club Brugge and he eventually played fifteen matches. His contract with Bologna runs for another year, making this the last moment to get a somewhat decent transfer fee from him.
