Ruud van Nistelrooij has announced PSV’s line-up for the away match against SC Cambuur. The coach sees no reason to change his team compared to the won home match against Feyenoord. Van Nistelrooij therefore does not seem to intend to save players for the Europa League meeting with FC Zurich next Thursday. The duel in the Cambuur stadium starts at 4.30 pm and is led by referee Pol van Boekel.

With Cody Gakpo and Xavi Simons, PSV have the two players who have been involved in the most goals in the Eredivisie this season. Both players also returned this week with a good feeling from the international break, as Simons made his debut with the Dutch Juniors and Gakpo scored a goal (against Poland) and an assist (against Belgium) for the big the Dutch. Both players are therefore at the kick-off in Leeuwarden.

Furthermore, Van Nistelrooij does not tinker with his team compared to the last competition match against Feyenoord (4-3 win). That means the central duo is again formed by Jarrad Branthwaite and Armando Obispo. André Ramalho has to settle in his role as reserve player. In the midfield, next to Joey Veerman and Ibrahim Sangaré, a place has been made for Guus Til. In the absence of Luuk de Jong, the striker position is filled by Xavi Simons, who was involved in the breakaway against RKC Waalwijk (1-0).

De Jong’s return is taking longer than planned, it was announced on Friday during the press conference. The striker will certainly need a few more weeks. The question is whether he recovered in time for the clash with Arsenal in the Europa League (October 20). Anwar El Ghazi and Fredrik Oppegård are again part of the match selection for the duel with Cambuur. Mauro Júnior is also on his way back. The Brazilian has returned from his homeland and has shown his face again on the training pitch.

PSV line-up: Benitez; Teze, Branthwaite, Obispo, Max; Sangare, Veerman, Til; Saibari, Simons, Gakpo
