As expected, Portugal had a carefree evening against Andorra on Wednesday evening (7-0). National coach Fernando Santos initially spared Cristiano Ronaldo, but brought the star player into the field after the break. Ronaldo showed himself and put an assist and goal on the scoreboard. Belgium won 2-1 against Switzerland thanks to two goals from Michy Batshuayi. That result is favorable for the Dutch national team, which competes with the Swiss for a place in the top ten of Europe. That place may be important in the upcoming draw for the World Cup qualifying cycle.

Portugal – Andorra 7-0
Cristiano Ronaldo started on the reserve bench against football dwarf Andorra and saw that Portugal took the lead after eight minutes in Benfica’s Estádio da Luz. Pedro Neto, attacker of Wolverhampton Wanderers, made his debut in the national team of Portugal on Wednesday evening and quickly scored his first international goal. Portugal was relatively merciful to Andorra before half-time, as the home team scored ‘only’ twice in the first half. The fifth goal came in the name of Andorran defender Emili García, who worked a cross from Bernardo Silva behind his own goalkeeper. Ronaldo took care of the sixth Portuguese goal with five minutes to go, while João Félix took care of the final chord and set the final score at 7-0.

Belgium – Switzerland 2-1
After just twelve minutes, the Belgians were lagging behind. Loris Benito sent an apparently harmless long ball from the defense of Switzerland, which Sebastiaan Bornauw thought was heading back to goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. However, the header was far too short, so Admir Mehmedi intercepted the ball and was gone. The number ten outwitted Mignolet with left in the far corner. Belgium showed very little in the first half and was lucky that Mignolet did save on a new dangerous bet by Mehmedi.

After the break, the Red Devils put things in order. Fabian Schar stupidly lost the ball by simply sliding the ball into the feet of Youri Tielemans, who immediately put Batshuayi to work. The striker cut Benito in the sixteen and hit the far corner with the left: 1-1. In the seventieth minute it was again hit for the center forward of Belgium.
