Barcelona and Real Madrid played a mutual benefit match with legends from both clubs on Tuesday evening. The now 41-year-old Ronaldinho showed the most beautiful things at the icons of Barça, although it went the Royal eventually took the win: 2-3. The match was played in Tel Aviv, Israel, under the watchful eye of approximately 30,000 supporters.
In addition to Ronaldinho, well-known names such as Deco, Rivaldo, Javier Saviola and Gaizka Mendieta played at Barcelona, while there was also a Dutchman on the field with Ronald de Boer. Real Madrid came in with players like Roberto Carlos and Luis Figo. The latter made the offending switch from Barcelona to Real in 2000. Barça’s supporters have not forgotten that more than twenty years later, as Figo could count on whistles from the stands when he touched the ball.
Ronaldinho started the match with a shot on goal from the center line, which ended on the roof of the goal. The Brazilian then gave Barcelona the lead via a hard hitting penalty. Real then took the lead in the game via Pedro Munitis and Alfonso Perez. Ronaldinho saw a free kick from a great distance being tapped just over, after which Jofre Mateu equalized for Barcelona. The latter received a beautiful long ball from Rivaldo and finished it with a dribble: 2-2. The final chord was for Ruben de la Red, who gave Real the win with a placed shot: 2-3.
