Days after the painful defeat in the Champions League against Bayern Munich (0-3), Ronald Koeman again received bad news. For the time being, the coach cannot have Jordi Alba and Pedri at his disposal, both of whom did not come out unscathed from the battle with the German top club. Barcelona will report the injuries through the official channels on Wednesday afternoon. It is not known exactly how long the two will be out of circulation, but a number of weeks are being taken into account.

Alba was injured on Tuesday evening and had to be replaced fifteen minutes before the end by seventeen-year-old Alejandor Baldé. In Spain there was soon a lack of understanding about the participation of Alba, who was missing at the final training of Barcelona and according to Catalunya Radio suffered from diarrhea the night before the game. He would also have vomited with a fever of 38.5 degrees. Despite the fact that Alba was not fit, Koeman decided to let him appear at the kick-off.

A photo of a visibly exhausted Alba quickly went viral on social media after the game against Bayern. The photo was often shared on Twitter and people expressed incomprehension about the left leg’s involvement. Pedri will also not be available for Koeman in the coming weeks. The midfielder is struggling with a thigh injury, the club announced. Barcelona will receive a visit from Granada on Monday, after which meetings with Cádiz and Levante also await in the same week.
