Romelu Lukaku is at the top of Napoli's wish list, Fabrizio Romano reports. However, a possible transfer of the Belgian to the south of Italy is currently on hold on holdas everything depends on a transfer of Victor Osimhen.

Earlier in the day, Fabrizio Romano reported that Paris Saint-Germain has a concrete interest in Osimhen, who must fill the gap left by Kylian Mbappé, who has left for Real Madrid, in the French capital. Osimhen is open to a transfer and the talks between him, his entourage and PSG are going well.

Later in the evening, Romano reports that Osimhen has given the green light to complete the transfer. The only thing left for PSG is the negotiations with Napoli, where Osimhen has a release clause of 120 million euros in his contract, which runs until mid-2026.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is known for his tough negotiations and so it remains to be seen whether the clubs will actually reach an agreement if PSG are not prepared to meet the Nigerian international's release clause. Romano therefore describes the negotiations as 'not easy'.

If an agreement does come about, Napoli will go all out for Lukaku. The striker is under contract with Chelsea until mid-2026, with whom he has an unhappy marriage. Lukaku was loaned to AS Roma last season, who had also negotiated a purchase option, but could not fulfill it.

Chelsea wants to get rid of Lukaku, but is sticking to the asking price of around forty million euros. An amount that Napoli can cough up after the sale of Osimhen. Everything stands or falls with the negotiations between Napoli and PSG.

Lukaku has also been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, but the 31-year-old Red Devil has repeatedly stated that he is not in favor of taking that step. Lukaku, who previously made a splash in Serie A at Inter, is looking to restore his reputation after a disappointing European Championship with Belgium.

Our southern neighbours were stranded after a weak group stage in the round of 16 against France (1-0). Lukaku saw three goals unfortunately disallowed and so his counter stopped at zero.
