AS Roma ran into an expensive loss of points in the Serie A on Sunday evening. The team of coach José Mourinho did not go further than a 0-0 draw at home. Due to the draw, Roma is stuck on 59 points from 35 matches and the battle for a ticket for the Europa League is completely open again.
Roma were stuck with a 1-1 draw during their first clash with Leicester City in the Conference League semi-final last Thursday. The Romans still have everything to play for during the return at home, so Mourinho gave Rick Karsdorp, Tammy Abraham and Lorenzo Pellegrini, among others, a rest on Sunday evening before the Serie A match with Bologna, where Mitchell Dijks was missing due to an injury.
Both teams failed to create serious chances in the opening phase. Both Roma and Bologna appealed once in the first company for a handball in the penalty area, but referee Michael Fabbri wanted nothing to do with it. Roma eventually created the greatest danger from a corner, but Lukasz Skorupski distinguished himself at that time by cleverly blocking a header from Marash Kumbulla.
Where the game dragged on for a long time, the two teams went on the hunt for the opening goal in the final phase. Abraham first shot just wide after a strong individual action, after which Rui Patrício gave Roma a point with a great save. The goalkeeper parried a header from ?? Lorenzo De Silvestri and then saw Marko Arnautovic shoot over from ten meters.
