Arjen Robben hopes to make his comeback in the FC Groningen shirt in two weeks in the away match against PSV, reports ESPN. The unfortunate attacker, who barely came into action this season with injuries, is aiming for a reunion with his former employer. PSV, together with FC Utrecht, is the only team against which Robben played this season. His counter has so far been at 45 meager minutes.

Robben participated in the game against PSV for half an hour in September (1-3 loss) and came in for Ramon Pascal Lundqvist fifteen minutes before time in October against FC Utrecht. It remained there until now, due to a groin injury and a calf injury. The recovery process of the 37-year-old winger is extremely difficult. Robben previously expressed openly doubts about his future. He recently started training with the group again, although Sunday’s derby against sc Heerenveen is still too early for the winger.

It is still not known whether Robben can also be admired in the Hitachi Capital Mobility Stadium next season. The 69-time international of the Dutch has not yet renewed his contract expiring next summer. Technical director Mark-Jan Fledderus recently indicated that he hoped for a longer stay for the attacker. “When Arjen says that he wants to continue for another year, we immediately say: ‘I would love to. We are not going to cancel the contract.”

Supporters from Groningen hung a nice banner for Robben at the training complex on Saturday. “The sake, solid ashes stole. Determination, persistence, spirit, lust, intransigence, vitality, ”the supporters’ banner said, intended to encourage the veteran in the final stages of his recovery.
