Eldor Shomurodov can call himself the second reinforcement of AS Roma for next season. The club of manager José Mourinho announced the arrival of the 26-year-old striker late on Monday evening. AS Roma will transfer an amount of 17.5 million euros to Genoa, which can look forward to a maximum of 2.5 million euros if the Romans and the Uzbek meet certain sporting objectives during the contract period until June 30, 2026.

According to Corriere dello Sport AS Roma, which previously took over goalkeeper Rui Patricio from Wolverhampton Wanderers, will transfer 1.5 million euros to Genoa this summer and the remainder of the fixed transfer fee will be paid in instalments. Genoa thus makes a big profit at the end of the ride on Shomurodov, as the attacker was taken over from FC Rostov a year ago for 7.5 million euros.

Shomurodov had a reasonable first year in Serie A, with 8 goals and 1 assist in 32 league matches. He has scored five goals in the last six Serie A matches, including a double against Atalanta. “Eldor is a striker with great potential and he also wants to prove himself at AS Roma, in a competition he already knows well. In addition, he fits very well into the way our trainer wants to play,” emphasizes general manager Tiago Pinto via the official channels of i Giallorossi

Italian media write that Sam Lammers will be Shomurodov’s successor in Genoa. The 24-year-old attacker has been nominated for several weeks to leave Atalanta on a rental basis, if a suitable club from the Serie A were to come forward. Lammers has had a difficult first year in Serie A. The attacker, who came over from PSV for at least nine million euros, played fifteen matches in Serie A, but only appeared at the starting signal once. He scored against Cagliari and Napoli.
