RKC Waalwijk has the technical staff for next season. The club reports on Thursday morning that Peter Uneken, who comes from Jong PSV, has signed a two-year contract as assistant coach. From now on he will support the new head coach Joseph Oosting. The latter trainer was recently appointed as successor to Fred Grim, who left for Willem II.

“For the interpretation of the assistant trainership, we focused on a person with a profile that matches the mission of the club and complements the current technical staff,” explains general manager Frank van Mosselveld. “Peter has shown in recent years at PSV, among others, that he is strong in the individual development of young players, an important pillar within our company strategy. With the recruitment of Peter as one of the assistants of head coach Joseph Oosting and Nyo Sulsters as the new video analyst completes the technical staff for the upcoming season.”

Uneken is ‘pleased and proud’ that he can start working at RKC. “The conversations I had with the club management were very positive. The mission and vision of the club appeal to me. RKC stands for collaboration and development, which suits me well. Other people around the club I spoke to were also enthusiastic about RKC, all this made me decide to continue my career at RKC,” said Oosting’s new right-hand man.

Uneken, active as a player for FC Emmen, FC Den Bosch and Helmond Sport, has been associated with Jong PSV since 2017. In the first two seasons, the former defender acted as an assistant coach, after which he was promoted to head coach in 2019. Uneken finished last season with the promise team of PSV in fourteenth place in the Kitchen Champion Division.
