PSV narrowly managed to win the Lichtstad derby against FC Eindhoven. The team of coach Peter Bosz was 1-2 behind for a long time, but thanks to a hat trick by Ricardo Pepi, who scored the winning goal from the penalty spot just before the end, PSV still won: 3-2.

After an unspectacular first half hour, PSV took the lead. Hirving Lozano was served in depth. The Mexican chipped the ball ready for Pepi, who could not miss from close range: 1-0.

Ten minutes before half-time, the equalizer suddenly arrived. PSV's defense failed to clear the ball and after a sharp cross from the left, it was Sven Blummel who found the roof of the goal from a difficult angle: 1-1.

A quarter of an hour after the break, Eindhoven even managed to take the lead. Matteo Dams stepped on the foot of an opponent in the sixteen and so the club from the Keuken Kampioen Divisie was allowed to take a penalty. Ozan Kökçü took his responsibility and shot via Drommel's hand: 1-2.

In the seventieth minute, PSV equalized. The ball came to Pepi's feet via a bit of luck, who finished nicely with the outside of his foot into the far corner: 2-2.

PSV went on the hunt for the winning goal and Jason van Duiven in particular became dangerous. His first attempt was too soft and could therefore be picked up by Jorn Brondeel. In his second chance he did not hit the ball full enough and so it seemed to remain at 2-2.

In the absolute final phase PSV earned a penalty. Van Duiven was lightly tapped on his foot and it was up to Pepi to fire the ball into the corner. The Tren succeeded in his mission and thus avoided a penalty shootout and gained the necessary confidence.
