Erling Braut Haaland draws the attention of the entire European elite with his goals and that is no different for Real Madrid. Marca reports that the Royal would currently have the best papers for the arrival of the Borussia Dortmund striker. In fact, the reigning champion of Spain would see him as the only player who can eclipse Kylian Mbappe in the future.

Real Madrid’s interest in 20-year-old Haaland is not new. The Spaniards had already targeted him before he exchanged Molde FK for Red Bull Salzburg and again when he left the Austrian club for Dortmund. However, the policymakers at the Santiago Bernabéu did not expect the young Norwegian to develop as quickly as he did in Germany, so no work was done on his arrival last year.

Haaland is seen by trainer Zinedine Zidane and the policymakers of the club as someone who could play together with Karim Benzema in the coming years and eventually become his successor. Moreover, the striker would not stand in the way of Mbappé’s dream arrival, since they both have a different way of playing and seem complementary to each other.

It is still unclear for what amount Haaland could move to Madrid. Agent Mino Raiola came up with those Boruses a transfer clause of 75 million euros for certain clubs, but Real Madrid would according to Marca out of respect for Dortmund do not intend to make use of this option. The two clubs maintain an excellent relationship and Achraf Hakimi and Reinier have already moved from Madrid to Signal Iduna Park on a rental basis in recent years.

If Real Madrid indeed wants to work on the arrival of Haaland, it seems to want to reach an agreement with Dortmund. The two clubs are in constant contact with each other and the Spaniards want to maintain this relationship in the coming years. The 17-year-old Giovanni Reyna has already attracted the attention of Real Madrid and the Royal hopes in this way to have an advantage if it indeed comes from a transfer battle for the young American.
