Takefusa Kubo will finish the season at Real Mallorca, Real Madrid confirm. The twenty-year-old Japanese will be loaned out to the PhD student for a year, where he already played in the 2019/20 season. The Royal will hope that Kubo manages to impress in Mallorca more than he did last season, when he played for two different Spanish clubs. Kubo has a contract in Madrid until mid-2024.

Real Madrid picked Kubo away from FC Tokyo two years ago as an eighteen-year-old talent. The right attacker was then immediately loaned to Real Mallorca and immediately conquered a base place on the island. Despite Kubo’s efforts, who appeared in 35 league appearances for Real Mallorca, the club was relegated from La Liga. Last season, the club immediately promoted again, which means that Kubo will also be active in LaLiga this year with Mallorca.

Kubo was recently active with Japan at the Olympic Games, where the semi-final was lost against Spain (0-1). The Japanese also failed to win the bronze medal against Mexico (3-1), which means that Kubo returns to Spain without a medal. The winger, who has not yet played an official minute for Real Madrid, first played for Villarreal last season, but did not get to play much. In January, Getafe took over the rental period, where Kubo then played eighteen official games. He was good for a goal and an assist.
