Midfielder Ryan Jack has apologized to the supporters of Rangers after the ear washing against Ajax. The Gers went down 4-0 in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Wednesday evening in the Champions League. The Scottish international also let it be known that he was impressed by the level that Ajax put on the mat.

“Of course everyone is disappointed, we must be too,” said Jack in front of the camera of BT Sport. “We let a lot of people down tonight. We apologize to the supporters who took the trouble to make this journey and support us. All we can do is apologize, keep going and hopefully we’ll be able to win again on Saturday.”

The level of Ajax does not come as a total surprise to the midfielder, but he is still impressed by the team from Amsterdam. “This is the highest level, the level at which Ajax acts. The trainer indicated in advance that we had to be at our best and it showed. This is one of the best teams I’ve played against. If we continue this level in this Champions League, we will not win a game against these kinds of opponents.”
