PSV hopes to capture striker Eran Zahavi already this weekend, it reports Eindhovens Dagblad Friday. According to the latest reports, the attacker will board the plane to the Netherlands on Friday to complete the formalities. The 33-year-old Zahavi has to be the successor of Sam Lammers in Eindhoven. The Eindhoven club came to an agreement in principle with Atalanta on Thursday about a transfer fee for the ten year younger striker.

Zahavi has been linked to several clubs in recent weeks, including Fenerbahçe, Istanbul Basaksehir and Maccabi Tel Aviv. The experienced Israeli, however, has fallen for the charms of PSV. The striker is an acquaintance of PSV’s new physical coach Yann-Benjamin Kugel, who worked for Israel’s national team last year. Through him, the contact between PSV and Zahavi has intensified, it reported. Algemeen Dagblad as early as last week.

Zahavi’s management is in talks with Guangzhou R&F, where Giovanni van Bronckhorst is his trainer, about the dissolution of his contract, which runs until December. Because Israel, where Zahavi is staying, will be in lockdown for three weeks from Friday, the attacker will have to get on a plane today. Roger Schmidt, former trainer at Beijing Sinobo Guoan, remembers the attacker from their joint time in the Chinese Super League.

PSV will undoubtedly have to pay more than one million euros a year in salary to Zahavi, but that will take the form of signing fees and bonuses, it wrote Eindhovens Dagblad before. Zahavi has been under contract with Guangzhou R&F since mid-2016 and was previously active for Maccabi Tel Aviv, Palermo, Hapoel Tel Aviv and Ramat haSharon. Zahavi’s counter at Guangzhou R&F stands at 103 goals and 31 assists in 117 matches.

PSV will receive about ten million euros, including bonuses, for Lammers, who played only 29 official matches in the first team and scored six times. The Eindhoven club counted on him to sign a new and longer contract, but during the transfer period, it became clear that Lammers wanted to leave. Atalanta raised the first bid from seven million euro this week to nine million euro and one million euro in bonuses. The clubs are working behind the scenes to give the transfer an official character.
