Roger Schmidt has announced the eleven names who will start at PSV in the semifinals of the TOTO KNVB Cup against Go Ahead Eagles. The coach chooses to make one change compared to the line-up against Sparta Rotterdam (1-2 win): Érick Gutiérrez comes as an extra midfielder in the team for Yorbe Vertessen. The match starts at 8 p.m. in the Adelaarshorst.

Schmidt’s line-up is more conservative than usual on paper, because the German with Eran Zahavi and Noni Madueke puts up two instead of three attackers. Gutierrez, Joey Veerman and Ibrahim Sangaré will have to control the midfield, while Mario Götze will probably come from number 10. Mauro Júnior is forced to play as right back again. Jordan Teze and Olivier Boscagli once again form the central duo, while Philipp Max is left back.

PSV sees the infirmary empty further: Marco van Ginkel returns from a positive corona test, while Armando Obispo has recovered after a month of injury. Schmidt therefore chooses to have both players start on the bench. The most important absentee from PSV is Cody Gakpo, who trains separately from the group and is almost fit again. Furthermore, André Ramalho, Ryan Thomas, Maxi Romero, Richard Ledezma and Fodé Fofana have been eliminated for some time.

Go Ahead confidently starts the semi-final after the spectacular stunt victory against Ajax (2-1). Kees van Wonderen is making two changes to his Wednesday evening line-up. Captain Bas Kuipers returns from suspension at left back and takes the place of Mats Deijl, while Giannis-Fivos Botos comes in midfield for Jay Idzes.

Go Ahead Eagles lineup: noppert; Martina, Nauber, Kramer, Kuipers; Brouwers, Rommens, Botos, Oratmangoen; Cordoba, Lidberg

PSV line-up: drum; Mauro Junior, Teze, Boscagli, Max; Sangare, Gutierrez, Veerman; Gotze; Zahavi, Madueke
