PSV has sold Chris Gloster to New York City FC, its management confirms to it Eindhovens Dagblad. The twenty-year-old American left back did not appear in trainer Roger Schmidt’s plans and is therefore allowed to return to his home country. PSV receives an unknown ‘limited amount’ for Gloster.

The left wing defender was taken over by PSV for three tons from Hannover 96 in the summer of 2019, but it never came to a debut in the main force. Gloster dropped out of the A-selection in preparation for the current season and was given the task of fighting back through Young PSV. In the winter break, however, the American was told that he would no longer be eligible for playing minutes among the promises.

Peter Uneken, the trainer of Jong PSV, preferred Fredrik Oppegard and Dennis Vos for the left back position. In total Gloster made 22 appearances on behalf of Jong PSV, in which he delivered one assist. Gloster went through the various national youth teams of the United States and is therefore on more than sixty youth matches. He ended up at Hanover in 2018 via New York Red Bulls in Europe.
