The third PSV kit for the new season has been presented. The new design will be shown in a live show by Puma on Wednesday evening, which, as expected, is mint green with dark blue details. Published in May Footy Headlines a first image of the uniform, although the website then reported that ‘certain elements’ could still differ from the actual final version.
The shirt is revolutionary, because the PSV club logo cannot be found. Instead, the club name will appear in large letters. In that respect, the design of the leaked version of Footy Headlines, because ‘Eindhoven’ was central on the chest. Third kits from major clubs such as Manchester City, AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund, Valencia and Fenerbahçe will also be shown during the presentation. The logo of those clubs has also disappeared from the design, the club name is written between two stripes on the chest and the logo of clothing sponsor Puma has a central place.
PSV will be playing outdoors this season in a shirt with dark purple and turquoise influences, which was officially presented in June. The third outfit is probably not worn with great regularity. According to journalist Rik Elfrink of the Eindhovens Dagblad PSV will not play in the third kit against Benfica on Wednesday evening, because the goalkeeper of the Portuguese club wears a similar shirt.
