PSV will let Yorbe Vertessen leave permanently for 1. FC Union Berlin, club watcher Rik Elfrink reports Eindhovens Dagblad Monday. The wing attacker (23) already started the medical examination at 7:00 am and no problems have yet come to light. If everything goes according to plan, he will sign a contract until mid-2028. PSV will not receive five million euros, as previously assumed, but around six million euros for the winter transfer. In addition, according to Elfrink, an attractive resale percentage has been negotiated.

Vertessen was initially not allowed to leave PSV during the winter break. Peter Bosz even said that a winter transition was out of the question due to the injuries of Noa Lang and Hirving Lozano. A few weeks later, Vertessen finally got his desired transfer.

Bosz gave Vertessen his farewell to the PSV supporters in the Philips Stadium on Saturday evening. The departing wing attacker came on fifteen minutes before the end against Almere City FC (2-0 win) and as it turns out, those were his last minutes in the PSV shirt.

Vertessen went through PSV's youth academy and made his debut in the main squad in February 2021. In the past 3 years he has played 102 matches on behalf of the leader in all competitions. Vertessen never developed into a permanent force and was loaned out to Union Sint-Gillis for a few months last season.

The product of his own training had strong competition on the wings with Lang, Lozano and Johan Bakayoko. Moreover, Malik Tillman can play as a winger. The Eindhoven team realized that Vertessen felt that he did not belong to the A-team of the main squad, which is why they ultimately agreed to an interim transfer.

Vertessen, who comes from PSV, is the intended successor to Sheraldo Becker at Union Berlin, who recently switched to Real Sociedad. The Belgian may make his debut on Sunday in Union Berlin's away match against RB Leipzig.
