PSV has far-reaching interest in César Montes, as we know Marc Claro to report. According to the Mexican newspaper, the people of Eindhoven have already contacted Monterrey to negotiate about the 24-year-old center defender. At an earlier stage, Montes was associated with Ajax, FC Porto, Valencia and several Belgian clubs.

Montes, who is nicknamed Cachorro (the puppy), will compete with Mexico in the Tokyo Olympics starting next week. according to Marc Claro it seems that the twelve-time international will then be sold to PSV. Negotiations are already underway between PSV and Monterrey about the transfer fee for Montes’ contract, which runs until December 2022. The defender has been informed of the concrete interest from the Netherlands.

In Mexico, PSV is considered a ‘very interesting team’ for Montes. The Monterrey-trained center defender has been an undisputed basic player at Vincent Janssen’s Mexican employer for five years. Montes made his debut in the Mexico national team in the summer of 2017, but is currently not part of the squad that is active at the Gold Cup. Instead of the championship for countries from the Caribbean and Central and North America, he is active in the Olympic Games, where Mexico will compete in the group stage against host country Japan, France and South Africa.

Montes was previously associated with PSV, Ajax, FC Porto, Valencia and various Belgian clubs. A year ago there was talk of an asking price of eight million euros, but this amount may have fallen. Montes refused to extend his contract with Monterrey until December 2022 and is therefore only committed for a year and a half. At PSV, Montes has to compete with Jordan Teze, Olivier Boscagli, Nick Viergever, André Ramalho and Armando Obispo, while Derrick Luckassen has also returned after a rental period at Kasimpasa.
