PSV suffered a defeat in their first friendly match of the season. Coach Peter Bosz saw his young team lose 0-3 to Anderlecht.

PSV had their first good chance to take the lead early in the match. The sixteen-year-old Manuel Bahaty had a great move and passed to Luuk de Jong, who set it up for Jevon Simons. The youth player shot narrowly wide.

After half an hour of play, Anderlecht scored. Francis Amuzu showed he had a lot of speed and had started on the left. The 24-year-old Belgian gave a pass to the penalty spot, where Nilson Angulo crawled in front of Mauro Júnior and slotted it in with his left: 0-1.

The second half had barely started when Anderlecht managed to double the score. Luis Vázquez went to the ground after a duel in the sixteen and referee Sander van der Eijk did not hesitate: penalty.

Vázquez stepped up to the ball himself and saw Joël Drommel, who came on for Walter Benítez at the start of the second half, make a great save at first. However, the goalie could not prevent the rebound from falling perfectly for Vázquez: 0-2.

After excellent preparatory work by Hirving Lozano, Jasper Uneken could have provided the connecting goal, but the substitute saw his header go just wide. Ismael Saibari also came close several times, but it was not meant to be for the Eindhoven team.

In the final phase it even became 0-3. Drommel let the cheese be eaten off his bread, which suddenly gave the Belgians a huge chance. In two instances it was a hit and Tristan De Greef let himself be cheered.

PSV line-up first half: Benitez; Merien, Dams, Obispo, Mauro; Ledezma, Til, Simons; Bahaty, De Jong, Van Duiven.

PSV second half line-up: Damn; Thee, Van de Blaak, Boscagli, Oppegård; Country, Saibari, Babadi; De Guzmán, Uneken, Lozano.
