PSV is one of the clubs with more than average interest in Carney Chukwuemeka, English media write. The midfielder annex attacker of seventeen years has been associated with a departure from Aston Villa for several months. Clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City and RB Leipzig have already been mentioned as possible destinations, but now PSV and AS Monaco would also keep a close eye on the situation.

Chukwuemeka, an Englishman with Nigerian roots, has been part of Aston Villa’s youth academy since 2016. Chief Executive Christian Purslow described the talent as “probably the best 16-year-old footballer in England” when the teenager signed his first professional contract last year. Chukwuemeka, who turned seventeen in January, is often praised for his technical qualities for a footballer of more than 1 meter 80.

The debut of Chukwuemeka (number 14 in the photo) in the main squad of Aston Villa seems imminent. He appeared to be making his debut in the FA Cup game against Liverpool in January after a corona outbreak had occurred with the A-squad, but had to be quarantined for training with Dean Smith’s roster. Chukwuemeka was on the bench for ninety minutes in the home game with Manchester City (1-2 loss) last Wednesday.

Chukwuemeka, good for two caps on behalf of the England Under-18s, makes his minutes especially for Aston Villa’s Under-23s. He is the youngest player in this squad of the Villans and came to sixteen games this season. PSV provided a surprise in mid-2018 by removing Noni Madueke from England. The now nineteen-year-old attacker, playing for the England Under-21, could also exchange Tottenham Hotspur for Manchester United, but opted for PSV’s multi-year offer.
