PSV was completely surprised by the news that the public may be admitted to the thirtieth round of the Eredivisie. The people of Eindhoven may open the Philips Stadium on Saturday, April 24 to 4,000 spectators in the home game against FC Groningen. How exactly the club should organize this is still completely unclear.

“All things considered, it is very nice that the weather is possible. However, there has been no consultation with us prior to this decision, so at the moment there is little to say how we are going to organize it,” says a bewildered commercial director Frans Janssen. Eindhovens Dagblad. “We are just not prepared for that, I must say in all honesty.”

“We were completely taken by surprise by the message this afternoon,” said Janssen, who is full of questions. “For example, we have read that people must be tested a maximum of 24 hours in advance, but it is unclear who is responsible for this and who will supervise it. Will that be the KNVB? Is it PSV itself? Who we can invite from our supporters, I know. not yet at all. We have 26,000 season ticket holders, who we all appreciate greatly.

PSV also wonders how the curfew after the match against FC Groningen will be dealt with. The kick-off is scheduled for 8 p.m., while the curfew as it stands now will be in effect from 10 p.m. “It seems that this was decided very quickly, and the clubs have not yet been informed,” says Janssen.
