Joël Drommel is on his way to PSV. According to it Eindhovens Dagblad has bitten technical manager John de Jong and the 24-year-old keeper will be medically examined today. When the inspection goes without problems, he will sign a contract until the summer of 2026. The presentation of Drommel is expected to take place at the end of this week.

Drommel had been personally in agreement with his future employer for quite some time. However, both clubs continued to bicker about the transfer fee, as Twente reportedly held on to an amount of six million euros. Drommel already announced in the media that he found that amount to be on the high side. According to the regional newspaper, the transfer fee is a lot lower and PSV pays an amount in the direction of 3.5 million euros. The compensation can still increase by means of a number of variables.

With Drommel, PSV thinks it has found the new first keeper for the coming years, the regional newspaper writes. Yvon Mvogo, the current first goalkeeper under trainer Roger Schmidt, will be hired from RB Leipzig this season. The Swiss international does not make a bad impression in the Philips Stadium, but they are nevertheless not completely satisfied with him. With Drommel, in whom PSV sees a future the Dutch-international, the club management expects to improve compared to Mvogo, or so it sounds.

It Eindhovens Dagblad wrote at the end of last month that Drommel himself has one of the keys to realize his transfer faster. The keeper and his agent together are entitled to a quarter of the transfer fee. If they refrain from doing so, both parties will come closer to each other. Through The Telegraph Sunday evening was not discussed about that part of the transfer fee. Football International writes that Drommel waives the part of the lump sum payment.
