PSV and FC Utrecht have reached an agreement on the transfer of Ryan Flamingo, according to Rik Elfrink and Marco Timmer of the Eindhoven Daily Newspaper and Football InternationalThe reigning national champions are paying 'almost nine million euros excluding bonuses' for the 21-year-old right-footer.

Flamingo still has to reach a personal agreement with PSV, but 'no problems are expected there', according to Timmer. The right-footer will probably undergo a medical examination on Sunday and the intention is that he will be on the training field in Eindhoven next week.

FC Utrecht is doing excellent business with the departure of Flamingo. The Domstedelingen rented the multifunctional player from Sassuolo last season and negotiated an option to buy for more than three million euros. The club is now selling him directly to PSV for almost three times as much.

The transfer had been in the air for weeks. It was previously announced that Flamingo had set his sights on a transfer to PSV. The youth international of Oranje could count on interest from many clubs. For example, the Eindhoven team reportedly had competition from Club Brugge, RB Leipzig and a number of unnamed clubs from Italy.

Flamingo comes from the youth academy of Almere City FC. The right-footed player left for Sassuolo at the beginning of 2021, but he was unable to break through to the first team. Vitesse offered a solution in the summer of 2022 and brought him to Arnhem on loan. There, Flamingo showed that he has a lot of potential.

Last season he made flying hours at FC Utrecht, for whom he played 36 matches. The defender born in Blaricum was a regular under Ron Jans, but ended the season in an unpleasant way with the chaotic play-off match against Go Ahead Eagles (1-2 defeat).

Decisive Stewart

Earnest Stewart is not sitting still at PSV in the first phase of the summer transfer window. The technical director previously took over both Malik Tillman and Sergiño Dest permanently after a loan period and is also on the verge of bringing in Couhaib Driouech in addition to Flamingo.

It Eindhoven Daily Newspaper reported on Thursday that the 22-year-old Excelsior winger should cost around 3.5 million euros. Bonuses could raise the amount to four million euros.
