The players of Jong PSV and Jong AZ will not throw in, but kick in or dribble in. In the case of a free kick or corner kick, a player may use a so-called self pass resume play, while a yellow card means that a player must be sidelined for five minutes. In addition, the match is played according to the principle of pure playing time. As a result, the duel lasts half an hour twice. The new rules of the game should ensure fast matches full of energy, it sounds like. In addition to Jong PSV and Jong AZ, Club Brugge and RB Leipzig also participate in the experimental tournament, which starts on Thursday and ends on Sunday. The Belgian club will first play against Jong PSV on Thursday. The confrontation with Jong AZ is on the agenda for Sunday.
KNVB will again allow five substitutions in professional football next season

With the decision to again allow five substitutions, the professional football board of the KNVB recently went along with the temporary change of the rules of the game by the International Game Rules Committee (IFAB) to relieve players during the busy football season. The IFAB initially made this temporary change last year to ensure the health of players who had to finish the 2019/20 season due to the corona pandemic.
Due to the warm weather conditions and the many games close together, the IFAB decided to allow teams to make five substitutions. Because there is still a lot of uncertainty about the course of the coronavirus and the consequences for the competitions, the KNVB has decided to continue to apply the rule next season.
