Paris Saint-Germain also won its third game of the season on Friday evening. Mauricio Pochettino’s star team did not have an easy time against Stade Brest, but partly due to the hesitating intervention of Marco Bizot, they still managed to score three points: 2-4. The former AZ goalkeeper looked bad, especially with PSG’s third goal, by letting a tenable shot slip from more than 35 meters.

The laundry list of absentees from PSG included the name of Lionel Messi, Neymar and the injured Sergio Ramos. With Georginio Wijnaldum in the starting line-up, the Parisians started the match strongly and Ander Herrera’s opening goal followed after 23 minutes. The Spaniard was on the edge of the box ready to catch a falling ball and suddenly accomplished it behind Bizot, who could have done more than just put his fingertips behind the ball: 0-1.

After Achraf Hakimi missed a great opportunity by shooting right at Bizot, Kylian Mbappé increased the score for PSG after more than half an hour. Georginio Wijnaldum’s shot bounced off the body of Lilian Brassier, after which Mbappé took advantage with a header: 0-2. Stade Brest hardly had anything to contribute, but came back on the stroke of half. A sublime chop by Romain Faivre came to Franck Honorat, who found the far corner through the fingertips of Navas: 1-2. The PSG goalkeeper, who is currently preferred to Gianluigi Donnarumma, was disappointed that he did not stop the ball, because it seemed to get it.

After the break, PSG again clearly took the initiative, but Navas had to save with his feet against the broken through Irvin Cardona. The visitors got away well and after 73 minutes the most remarkable goal of the evening followed. Idrissa Gueye scored from more than 35 meters and saw the ball pop in through Bizot’s fingers: 1-3. PSG proved unable to keep their ranks closed again and allowed Steve Mounié to take the ball to the chest and shoot through Navas’ legs: 2-3. Mounié had a great chance to make it 3-3, but hit the body of Thilo Kehrer. On the other side, substitute Ángel Di María finished it off on the counter, by subtly lifting the ball over Bizot: 2-4.
